Upcoming Hybrid SUVs in India 2026

The demand for fuel-efficient, eco-friendly cars is rising, and upcoming hybrid SUVs in India 2026 will bridge the gap between petrol and electric vehicles. Brands like Hyundai, Kia, Honda, and Renault are set to launch models offering better mileage, lower emissions, and modern features.

Hyundai Creta Hybrid

The next Hyundai Creta Hybrid will be likely to have a 1.5L petrol engine with a robust hybrid unit with a power output of approximately 140-160 hp and a torque of 250 Nm. It will probably have a self-charging, lithium-ion battery of 1-2 kWh, which allows a short range of EV-only driving, a smoother drive, and more than 25 km/l without charging the battery in plugs.

The Creta Hybrid will retain a high-tech and comfortable cabin with features like a panoramic sunroof, twin 10.25-inch display screens, Bose audio, ventilated seats, and smart safety features. Safety will also be a big focus with Level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ESC, and lane assist present in the existing models.

The hybrid model would likely cost in the range of ₹18-22 lakh (ex-showroom), which is slightly more than current Creta models. It will be more fuel efficient with a potential mileage of over 23-27 km/l. It’s likely to be launched by late-2026-early 2027.

Kia Seltos Hybrid

The next Kia Seltos Hybrid will have a 1.5L/1.6L petrol engine and a robust hybrid system with a power output of approximately 140-154 hp and a torque of 260 Nm+. It will most probably be powered by a self-charging 1-2 kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing for EV-only driving, and it will run 20-25+ km/l without the use of a plug-in charge.

The Seltos is already one of the most feature-laden SUVs. The hybrid model will probably come with a twin-screen setup, panoramic sunroof, vented seats, ambient lighting, and connectivity. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 6 airbags, a blind-spot camera, and a 360-degree video system will be on offer in the form of safety features.

The price of the Seltos Hybrid may range from ₹17-21 lakh, and it could offer a mileage of 20-25 km/l. It is likely to be launched by Kia in 2027, following the launch of other hybrid cars globally.

Honda Elevate Hybrid

The new Honda Elevate Hybrid will be based on a 1.5L Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with a powerful hybrid (e:HEV) engine, with an approximate output of 126 hp and 253 Nm of torque. It will probably have a self-charging lithium-ion battery of 1-2 kWh, which is enough to allow short EV-only drives, smooth operation, and nearly 25-27 km/l without plug-in charging.

Safety and comfort will be priorities for Honda, with features including a large touchscreen, digital driver interface, wireless charging, comfort features, and opulent interiors. It will include an ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite such as Honda Sensing, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and several airbags, making it one of the safest SUVs in its class.

The Elevate Hybrid will be priced around ₹18-20 lakhs with a claimed efficiency of 25-27 km/liter. It is likely to be launched by late 2026, one of the first hybrid SUVs in its class.

Renault Duster Hybrid

The next Renault Duster Hybrid version will be powered by a 1.8L petrol engine with a powerful hybrid (E-Tech) system that will provide approximately 155-160 hp of power. It will probably have a 1.2-1.4 kWh self-charging lithium-ion battery, allowing short-range EV-only driving, smoother operation, and an approximate range of 24-26 km/l without plug-in charging.

The new Duster will also feature a contemporary dashboard with a large touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth, and better-quality materials. The safety features will be improved with dual airbags, ABS, ESC, and maybe even some ADAS.

The estimated price for the Duster Hybrid model is around ₹18-22 lakh, and it is expected to offer a mileage of 20-26 km/l. The launch date in India is likely to be the end of 2026 (or Diwali).
