Tata Motors is developing the next generation Nexon and the electric version is now spotted in latest spy images posted by the Trakin Auto’s YouTube. The sighting gives a glimpse of the upcoming electric SUV, which is to be expected as the design is noticeably different from its gasoline counterpart and the battery enclosure and high voltage orange cables are in evidence.
The Tata Nexon EV 2027 will be powered by an all-new design, with new battery efficiency, more battery range and new battery technology predicted. But, Tata Motors has so far not officially announced any of its specifications, price and launch date. All this and more is what the latest spy shots tell us, and what consumers can realistically expect.
What to Expect from the 2027 Tata Nexon EV

Tata Nexon EV will be getting a facelift exterior which will have a slightly taller SUV aspect ratio. According to the spy images, the model displays a flatter roof line and more of a vertical backline than the current model. The new design may offer a better rear headroom and baggage capacity, but it isn’t clear exactly how much larger the cabin will be. Most exterior details are still hidden under camouflage.

The most impressive feature of the new observation is the battery pack. The prototype has a battery compartment at the bottom of the passenger compartment and orange high voltage cables are visible at the front of the battery. These otherwise serve to pinpoint the test car as electric, but do not say anything about the nature of the battery or its capacity. Tata may alter the electric drive system and battery to make it more efficient, faster-charging and better performing, but it has not yet confirmed these enhancements.

Another aspect that will be crucial will be driving range. Currently available, Tata Nexon EV has a 30kWh and 45kWh battery configuration, claiming a maximum of 489km per charge from the larger battery. The challenge might be overcome by improvements in battery management, motor, or the overall design of the new-model vehicle. However, Tata Motors has yet to reveal the next-generation model’s range, implying any specific range would be a speculation.
The interior of the new Nexon EV may have a revamped dashboard, new infotainment systems and other conveniences. Up until now, though, it seems the interior of the electric version has yet to be fully uncovered. The final list of features, safety equipment, charging specifications and battery options are still not clear.
According to the latest Auto Reports, the next-gen Nexon will hit India in 2027. The exact launch date and booking schedule of the all electric version has not been confirmed. Also, Tata Motors has not yet revealed the price of the car, so it is advisable to not depend on speculating it and wait for official details.
