October 22, 2026

Kia has revised the price of a few car variants of the Sonet by up to ₹9,000 in October 2026. This is the second price increase for the compact SUV this year, which has coincided with the turbo-petrol model having been added to the prices of certain versions. Those seeking to purchase the Kia Sonet should get the updated price list of all the variants before booking it.

The price increase is dependent on the engine and transmission, whatever you choose. The naturally aspirated petrol variants of 1.2-litre have been increased by ₹4,000, and some turbo-petrol variants have been increased by ₹9,000 . The ex-showroom prices may change and buyers are advised to check the updated ex-showroom prices with their nearest Kia dealers before finalizing their purchase decision.

Which Kia Sonet Variants Get the Highest Price Hike?

The turbo-petrol variants equipped with the iMT and DCT transmissions receive the highest increase of ₹9,000 among the variants listed above. These include the HTK (O) iMT, HTK+ (O) iMT, HTK+ (O) DCT, HTX DCT and GTX+ DCT.

Meanwhile, the listed 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol manual variants become ₹4,000 more expensive. The actual price difference depends on the variant selected, so buyers should confirm the latest quotation with their nearest Kia dealership.

Kia Sonet Engine and Transmission Options

The Kia Sonet comes with three engines including a 1.2-litre petrol naturally aspirated engine, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Purchasers have the choice between manual, iMT, DCT and automatic transmissions for different variants of the powertrain.

If most customers use their Kia Sonet cars for urban driving, they may prefer the 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces around 83 PS of power and 115Nm of torque, and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine produces easy-going driving no matter if you commute to work or drive around town.

Need additional power and faster getaway? The Sonet’s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine might be a viable option. Produces 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque, and comes with a selection of a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed automatic (DCT).

If you have to drive long distances repeatedly, then the Kia Sonet’s 1.5-litre diesel engine should be given some consideration. It generates approximately 116 PS of power and a noteworthy 250 Nm of torque, making highway trips with confidence a breeze.

The stated price increase of its own is no sign of a mechanical update or even features update.  The buyer is obliged to make his/her own inquiry regarding the specifications and equipment of the variant of his/her choice.

Kia Sonet Rivals Comparison: Which SUV Offers Better Value for Money?

The Kia Sonet is also positioned in competition with other compact SUVs in its class, like Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza or Mahindra XUV 3XO. It depends on your budget, preferred features and driving requirement, each of the types has its advantages.
