KTM 350 DUKE & ADVENTURE

If you thought the KTM 390 was too expensive, KTM just gave you a reason to rethink. The new KTM 350 Duke and Adventure bring almost the same aggressive styling, features, and thrilling performance at a much lower starting price of ₹2.77 lakh.

These bikes are initially similar to the 390 models but the major difference is the price. KTM has ensured that these bikes are cheaper and more people can experience the power and fun of riding without breaking the bank.

In case you had considered purchasing a KTM but wondered that the 390 was too costly, then the new 350 line-up may be the right model that will not strain your wallet.

Pricing That Changes the Game

The boldest thing about the new KTM 350 range is its competent pricing. KTM 350 Duke has an initial cost of about 2.77 lakh and KTM 350 Adventure comes at a price of approximately 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom) which is approximately 60,000 cheaper than the 390 models.

The Smart Strategy Behind 350cc

This is not just any engine update, but a brilliant move on the financial front. Motorcycles less than 350cc in India are subjected to reduced GST (18 percent) but higher capacity bikes fall under a higher bracket. KTM has been able to reduce the weight of the engine slightly to:

  • Reduce overall cost
  • Maintain premium positioning
  • Expand its customer base

In simple words, you get the same KTM feel, but at a price that’s easier to afford.

Engine and Performance

The brand new 350cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a powerful and smooth performance is likely to be provided with these two bikes. Although the engine is comparatively a small size when compared with the 390, it still provides an impressive power of approximately 40-43 hp and a torque of approximately 35 Nm. This implies that the KTM 350 Duke will be fast, agile and enjoyable to ride in the city, and the KTM 350 Adventure will provide a compromised balance of power and comfort in long rides.

The unique feature of these two bikes is their rapid throttle response and lightness, providing the motorcyclists with confidence and total control of the motorcycles. A 6-speed gearbox system complements the engine, thus ensuring the gear changes are smooth and the ride enjoyable in both the city and on the highways. All in all, both bikes  provide good performance without becoming too aggressive hence it will be the best choice for all those who want the one-pack power, control and daily usability features.

Features – Premium Feel Continues

The KTM 350 Duke and Adventure still provide a premium feel with a feature that is not typically found in higher-priced bikes. Both models are equipped with a contemporary TFT screen, which displays all the necessary ride information as well. Ride-by-wire technology is also included, which provides a smoother throttle response and more accuracy.

These bikes are also equipped with traction control and two-channel ABS with the Supermoto mode to improve safety and control. Several riding modes will enable the riders to tune their performance depending on the conditions on the road, and a quick shifter might be provided to enable smoother gear changes. Generally, these bikes are able to maintain that high-end KTM vibe, at a lower cost.

Design – Same Aggression, Same DNA

The KTM 350 Duke design and  Adventure design are kept to the striking and cutting-edge style, which KTM is recognized with. It has all the aggressive streetfighter appearance that include extensions of the sharp tank, split LED headlight and sporty posture that attracts attention immediately on the road.

Conversely, the KTM 350 Adventure is more rugged and tall in design, intended to be used both in town and on long trips, and has a big windscreen and strong bodywork. Although they are new 350cc models, the design DNA has not been changed by KTM compared to the KTM 390,  so the riders can enjoy the same premium and powerful presence on the road without any loss.

Mileage Of KTM 350 Duke & Adventure:

The KTM 350 Duke and Adventure will most likely provide a good performance to fuel efficiency ratio. The performance of both bikes can be approximately 28-32 km/l, which makes them more convenient , in comparison with the larger 390 models.

Rivals & Market Impact

These Bike will be competing in a very competitive market with other powerful competitors such as the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, Triumph Speed 400 and Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. But the most important strength of KTM is its high performance, aggressive look and its high features which provides it with an advantage over many of its competitors.

Autovenger’s Final Verdict:

From a rider’s point of view, the KTM 350 Duke and Adventure feel like a very smart choice in today’s market. You are getting almost the same look, features, and riding experience as the bigger 390 models, but at a much lower price. The difference in power is there, but on real roads, most riders won’t feel a huge gap unless they are pushing the bike to its limits.
