In June 2026, the Indian scooter market saw impressive sales figures for both petrol and electric scooters, with several models showing strong growth. Honda Activa again leads the pack in the country, with sales of 2,18,932 units, while enjoying a healthy growth of 19% compared to the previous year. Its reliability, fuel efficiency and high resale value is still making it a top-of-the-choice among millions of Indian consumers.
The TVS Jupiter has retained its place as the second position vehicle with 136,805 units and an impressive 27% YoY growth. The Suzuki Access held onto its third place position at 63,121 units thanks to its high quality, lightweight 125cc engine, comfort and conveniences. The two versions are still targeting family consumers who are seeking reliable daily commuters.
The most surprising development in June was electric scooter sales. TVS iQube proved to be outstanding amongst the top 10 list with sales of 47,331, showing an extraordinary year-on-year growth of 232%. Bajaj Chetak further maintained impressive growth figures with 126% growth alongside the top 1,000,000 sold units, while Ather Rizta took 7th position with a sale figure of 24,742 units and impressive 97% growth over last year. The figures are definitely up with the net effect that Indian consumers are fast moving into electric mobility.
TVS Ntorq continued to be a strong performer in the sporty scooter category with a growth of 65% to 37,762 units sold. The aggressive appearance, connected features, and peppy performance of the scooter are still having the desired effect in capturing the interest of young audiences. Yamaha Ray and Suzuki Burgman sold 22,782 and 22,454 units, respectively, bringing them close behind, at position eight and seven, respectively. In the 125cc scooter segment, steady demand was seen from the Hero Destini 125, which sold 22,010 units in the top 10.
Overall, the scooter sales report for June 2026 shows that the petrol variant of scooters such as Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, and Suzuki Access continue to claim the lion’s share of sales but, however, the electric scooter continues to record offbeat growth in demand. The Indian scooter market is well on its way to an electric revolution, with scooters like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta making headway, but the demand for reliable petrol scooters continues to be robust.
